I finished this quilt top today and love it! It's perfect for a crib or toddler bed. What do you think?
I'm a busy mom of three who always makes time to craft! I love quilting but also make pillowcases, hairbows, ornaments, buntings/banners, table runners, etc.

December 23
The flu hit our household this week- my two girls and I had it. I'm still recuperating but am trying to get a few projects done before I have my surgery consult on the 7th. I'll be having carpel tunnel surgery and will have severe withdrawal from quilting during my recovery!
But in the meantime I've finished a few pillowcases and a fleece blanket. Today I am working on this silver, blue and cream tablerunner. I love the shimmer of these fabrics!

Changes to the Blog!
I've decided to change this blog to my (Vicki's) crafting blog since I post more of my stuff than the shop's stuff.
I am a mom to three kiddos - ages 8, 6, and almost 3. I also do bookkeeping from home so I stay extremely busy! But now that my kids are older I've started sewing and crafting again and always make sure to find time for this love of mine.
I love making quilts. My grandma taught me when I was around 19. My husband and I would spend every weekend and any days off college at my grandparent's house making quilts ALL day long! She taught me almost everything I know. My mom has followed in her footsteps and opened A Winning Quilt Shop in 2013. She's taught me many things as well.
I also make pillowcases, hairbows, tablerunners, banners/buntings, infinity scarves, ornaments, fleece blankets, baby blankets, and anything else I can think of! I sell my stuff in a local boutique, Enchanted Moments Boutique and am trying to build it up a little. My mom and I decided we're going to start doing some craft shows too.
So, be watching for more consistent updates. For now, here's the quilt I finished yesterday that is being sent to the shop this weekend for quilting.
Keep Sewing Along!

More Table Runners!
I'm working on several projects currently. Pillowcases and bows to sell at a craft fair in a couple weeks. Some fleece tie blankets that were requested by a local boutique. A fun strip quilt that I need to add a couple borders on, a fall quilt, and several buntings.
I completed this table runner last night. I'm not sure I love the black fabric but that's what the background was on the leaf fabric so I went with it. I'm not in love with this pattern either so might not be making this one again soon. But, table runners are cute anyway!

10/28/14
I've been trying to get some more things made to take to the boutique to sell. Here are some recent projects that I am working on or have completed.
Pillowcases
Table runner in progress
Finished table runner. I LOVE this pattern!
This will be a quilt of fall colors.
This isn't a quilt that I completed but one that I really really want to make. Someone brought it into the shop to be quilted and now I'm on the search for the pattern and right fabric.

Fall Projects
I'm very excited to get some fall projects completed. I brought back some leaves fabric that I love and started this chevron table runner with some of it. Also going to be doing some other table runner since I have enough fabric and some buntings for mantle decorations. Then I have some super cute fall color fabric strips that will make a quilt. Not necessarily leaves or fall fabric but just warm colors of browns, yellows, reds, and golds. So this quilt could also just be for a male as well and used at other times of the year.

Champagne Quilt
Vicki: I started working on this quilt. The pattern is called Champagne and I'm using the Pedal Pushers jelly roll to make it. I've also added in a few solids from the Grunge line so I can make it a little larger than the pattern called for. I'm loving it so far. The colors go together so well and I like how it's coming along quickly.

We're in a Boutique!
Vicki: I've been making some buntings/banners, pillowcases, hair ties and bows, quilts, baby blankets, and fleece tie blankets that are now being sold in a local boutique in my town. I'm so excited about this! I'm hoping that they sell well so I have an excuse to be sewing so much!

Patterns!
This is Vicki - Jody's daughter. It's fun getting back into quilting since my kids are older and I can get supplies from my mom! I also find it interesting comparing the things we make. My mom seems to do more traditional quilts while I am drawn to the more modern patterns, hair bows for my girls, table toppers and buntings.
I saw these patterns this week and it made me think of this comparison between my mom and me. If you'd like to try them out yourself you can purchase them or read more info at the links below.
